This post is not at all intended to be lengthy, or even overly spiritual or insightful. It is simply meant to be encouraging. Many of you reading this, like me, have such a desire to “be the change you want to see in the world”. We seek to make the world a better place, to love others, and to be loved, to share the reason for the hope that we have in our relationship with Jesus; but it isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Many times we get distracted with everyday responsibilities: the kids, work, household chores, bills, etc, but we all have to admit that sometimes we just get discouraged! There are so many days where I simply ask myself, “what is the point in all of this? Nothing is happening, and I am definitely not making a difference!” If you say you have never been there, then I would either say you are lying to yourself, or you are the most fortunate person in the history of mankind. My note of encouragement to you may seem strange, because I am here to tell you that it is ok to get discouraged, and feel down; it’s part of being an emotionally driven human being. The trick is to always remember 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” We all get discouraged, just remember that your efforts to serve God and love others are never in vain! Until next time….
